- EPIC aps Celebrates the Success of the “Erasmus at Breakfast” Event as part of Erasmus Days 2023
On Saturday, Oct. 14, at 09:00 a.m., at the Abruzzo Airport Conference Room in Pescara, EPIC (European Platform for International Cohesion aps) co-organized with CSV (Centro Servizi Volontariato Abruzzo) the “Erasmus at Breakfast” event, a unique opportunity to promote the active participation of European citizens through the stories and experiences they have had in Erasmus projects.
The event was held as part of Erasmus Days 2023, an initiative promoted by the Erasmus+ National Agencies under the patronage of the European Commission, aimed at celebrating the Erasmus program through a series of events across Europe.
During the meeting, several representatives from associations and the voluntary world gathered to explore the value and impact of Erasmus projects. Engaging testimonies from participants in various Erasmus projects were presented, highlighting CSV’s crucial role in promoting interaction between European citizens and creating opportunities for learning and growth.
The event was broadcast live on CSV’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CentroServiziVolontariatoAbruzzo, allowing a wider audience to follow the discussions and testimonies shared.
“Erasmus at Breakfast” provided an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the Erasmus program and European culture in enriching the experiences of European citizens and encouraging active participation in an increasingly connected Europe.

- ERASMUS AT BREAKFAST
𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲!
Saturday 𝟭𝟰 𝗼𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝟬𝟵. 𝟬𝟬 at the Abruzzo Airport Conference Room, Pescara the event “Erasmus at Breakfast” will be held: a valuable opportunity to promote the program in its totality also through the telling of experiences in the implementation of projects.
The meeting is part of hashtag#ErasmusDays, the initiative promoted by the Erasmus+ National Agencies under the patronage of the European Commission by which the Erasmus program is celebrated and told through numerous events across Europe.
- Online Publication of Thematic Mentoring Cycles of the Local Project
The eight modules of LOCAL’s Thematic Mentoring Cycle are now available online.
The LOCAL project has entered its next phase with the online publication of its Thematic Mentoring Cycles on the Digital Hub section of the website:
The bespoke Thematic Mentoring Cycles are aimed at adults aged 50 plus and cover topics of silver economy and digital and entrepreneurship transversal skills.
The aim of LOCAL is to show that the silver economy can be used as an opportunity to develop communities by using locally-based mentoring practices. Experienced silver entrepreneurs will act as mentors and will use the LOCAL curriculum with their mentees to support them through their silver entrepreneurial journey.
The Thematic Mentoring Cycles contains content under the following eight headings:
- The Silver Economy and Societal Challenges
- Value Proposition: From an Idea to a Business Proposal
- Business Development Model
- Fundraising and Grant Proposal Writing
- Networking
- Innovation and Sustainable Management
- E-Marketing and Branding
- Interpersonal and Entrepreneurial Skills
Each module provides silver entrepreneurs with the essential knowledge to build a successful enterprise. A mentor will guide their mentee through each of the modules, sharing their wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and entrepreneurial experience.
LOCAL partners are committed to promoting community-based mentoring practices as a catalyst for positive change and local development. The consortium is excited about this next phase of the project.
The LOCAL project is co-funded by the European Union, bringing together nine partners from eight different countries, including Bulgaria, Cyprus, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Portugal, Romania, and Spain.

- CITIES BY HEART
EPIC partner of the project Cities By Heart: alternative models of urban tourism that actively involve migrants. The project involves the training of a group of migrants on innovative models of sustainable tourism at Km 0: discover, know and present the urban reality with different eyes, to promote integration and multiculturalism.
The first phase of the project ended on 22 April 2021, with the delivery of certificates of participation to the first group of “senior” migrants who completed the activities: training on sustainable tourism models; definition of two alternative urban routes; presentation of the routes and accompanying visitors; transfer of experience and skills acquired to the group of “junior” migrants, who will be protagonists of the second phase.
The junior group takes the lead and prepares to develop and present other urban routes.

A colorful and fascinating world opened its doors to us in the webinar dedicated to “Forgotten Trades”, at the meeting of October 7, 2020.
Alongside the industrial production of jewellery, there is an increasing trend towards artisanal production, which allows you to create and wear unique and personalized pieces.
Marketing campaigns and social newtork allow to keep in touch with customers by offering original and unique proposals.
- “Borse, pelli e pellami colorati”
As part of the “Forgotten crafts” program, EPIC organized on September 3, 2020 the webinar “Borse, pelli e pellami colorati” which led us to discover the colorful world of artisanal leather.
The attention to traditional and local productions has led to the rediscovery and enhancement of a craft never lost, but that is revitalized thanks to recent demands of trendy trends.
The handicraft works take on a modern and attractive appearance.
- “The herbs of the mountains and the secret flavors”
The webinar meeting took place on 21 July 2020 and was dedicated to the knowledge of wild plants and herbs, mountain, used for the preparation of traditional or innovative dishes, in the framework of the initiative “Forgotten crafts”.
The restaurant attentive to the production Km 0 and the recovery of natural ingredients and traditional methods has led to rediscover the ancient knowledge of herbs, always used in typical cuisine to flavor or create dishes of tradition.
- “Natural wool and threads”
On 2 July 2020, the webinar organized in the framework of “Forgotten crafts” made us discover the secrets of returning to natural and traditional fibers, and the recovered techniques of coloring based on natural elements.
The knowledge of plant products allows the creation of exclusive yarns, friends of nature, used to make unique garments or accessories.
Web marketing enables a significant expansion of markets.
- “The rag dolls and their hospital”
EPIC is holding the Forgotten Trades Training Webinar: on 9 June 2020 we presented “The rag dolls and their hospital”: despite the wide range of modern toys, the rag doll remains a welcome gift; Some companies are positioned in the market for offering particular products characterized by attention to detail and reduced production. The doll needs its own hospital where it can receive proper care. Digital allows communication and connection between patients and hospital, web marketing and modern transport allow to offer the service throughout Italy.
- “Lo stagnino: stampi per biscotti speciali”
EPIC holds the Training Webinar on Forgotten Crafts: on May 12, 2020 EPIC held during its webinar cycles on continuing education the meeting “Lo stagnino: molds for special biscuits”: tinsmith is a forgotten craft because the current culture leads us to throw and buy back instead of repairing. But the foodie mania that is rampant on blogs creates customization needs: the need to have particular and personalized molds, which only a patient craftsman can create.
- Webinar Cycle – EPIC
EPIC launches the Webinar cycle “Forgotten trades, modern enterprises”; thanks to the collaboration with the association “La Girandola”, EPIC organizes a series of Webinars to illustrate the forgotten trades that are finding a space even among young people and that applying modern marketing techniques, management, planning, including through the use of digital, they manage to create businesses. Each meeting is devoted to a trade. Come to know the secrets of ancient and fascinating crafts, through the words of artisans and artists today. The trades will be illustrated in their secrets and accompanying traditions, but we will also analyse the entrepreneurial aspect which has enabled skilled craftsmen of ancient knowledge to create and develop successful modern enterprises.
